JULIA DE BURGOS – CHILD OF WATER, a play by Carmen Rivera, takes the audience on a surreal journey of the tragic life of the great Puerto Rican poet Julia de Burgos. The story breaks time and space and takes place in the chasm between life and death. Born in 1914, Julia rose from humble beginnings to become one of the premier poets of her time, tragically dying on the streets of Spanish Harlem in 1953.
